Jennifer Aniston‘s mother has passed away at age 79, just two weeks after they reunited after years of not speaking.
Aniston, along with her brother, announced the passing of her mother, Nancy Dow, on Wednesday. The actress revealed that she had always had a complicated relationship with her mother because she had always been very “critical of her.”
“‘It is with great sadness that my brother John and I announce the passing of our Mother Nancy Dow,” said Aniston in a statement to People. “She was 79 years old and passed peacefully surrounded by family and friends after enduring a long illness,’ the actress continued. ‘We ask that our family’s privacy be respected as we grieve our loss.”
The two spent some time together two weeks earlier on May 12. This was the first time they had seen each other in roughly five years. The fallout between the mother and daughter duo was because of a tell-all book.
Dow had reportedly been suffering from a number of strokes since 2011 that had led her to lose her ability to speak and walk prior to her death. An inside source told In Touch magazine that Jen must have had a wake-up call, and probably wanted to see her mother again before she passed. We wish her all the best during this difficult time.
