Prepare yourselves as you read this because I almost fainted. A third Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants movie is “definitely” in the works, according to Amber Tamblyn (aka Tibby Rollins).
If you aren’t as excited as I am about this, I’m concerned. You don’t need to lie to yourself, we all know you have seen the first two movies a million times. Honestly, you’ve probably even tried to find your own pair of pants to share with your friends (or was that just me?).
The announcement happened this weekend at the Los Angeles Film Festival while Amber Tamblyn was promoting her new film, Paint It Black.
“I have no information about [a release date], but I can obviously tell you that something is definitely in the works”, she said.
Actress America Ferrera, who played Carmen in the film, also revealed to People last year that the third movie would be based on the fifth book in the series.
“What’s wonderful about it is, and the series to begin with, is that it’s really raw and honest about friendship and how hard it can be and how it changes as you grow up”, she explained.
Although our 11 year old selves are jumping for joy right now, we may have to wait awhile for the movie release. Blake Lively is currently pregnant with her second child, Alexis Bledel recently had a baby and is busy with the Netflix reboot of Gilmore Girls, and America Ferrera’s sitcom Superstore just got picked up for a second season.
All I know is that Lena and Kostas better get married by the end of this movie. In all seriousness, regardless of how long it takes, we will all be patiently waiting to see these real life besties back on the big screen.
