Lil Wayne reportedly suffered a seizure while aboard his private plane on Monday, June 13. The musician’s plane was forced to make an emergency landing in Nebraska, according to TMZ.
Lil Wayne, now 33-years-old, was flying from Milwaukee to California when he reportedly blacked out. The pilot landed the plane in Omaha. TMZ reported that a conscious Lil Wayne then refused medical treatment.
Lil Wayne set off to fly again, only to suffer another seizure only moments later. He was then taken to the hospital.
The rapper has a history of seizures. In 2012, Lil Wayne’s plane was forced to make an emergency landing and in 2013, the rapper spent almost a week in the hospital after suffering a series of seizure back to back.
“The bad news is…I’m prone to seizures,” Lil Wayne explained. “Like, this isn’t my first, second, third, fourth, fifth, sixth, seventh seizure. I’ve had a bunch of seizures, y’all just never hear about them…I go to sleep and wake up in the hospital. I don’t feel anything.”
In May of 2013, Lil Wayne almost died. In an interview with Power 106 after being released from the hospital, he explained that he “basically…could’ve died” and that the reasons for his seizures were “just plain stress, no rest [and] overworking myself.”
