If you grew up in the ’90s, you were probably obsessed with Nickelodeon. From Rugrats to CatDog, us ’90s kids had some amazing cartoons to choose from before our minds were ruined by reality TV. But lucky for us, Nickelodeon is delivering a blast from the past with an upcoming Hey Arnold! TV movie. The football head will be returning to our television screens.
Today, the network announced that Hey Arnold!: The Jungle Movie will bring back 19 original voices from the beloved television series (hallelujah).
According to TVLine, returning voices include Francesca Marie Smith as Helga, Anndi McAfee as Phoebe, Justin Shenkarow as Harold, Olivia Hack as Rhonda, Nika Futterman as Olga, Dan Castellanetaas Grandpa and Tress MacNeille as Grandma.
So what about Arnold and Gerald? According to the report, Lane Toran, the original voice of Arnold, and Jamil Smith, the original voice of Gerald, won’t be reprising their roles in the new TV movie.
Both Toran and Smith will join the cast in “supplemental” voice roles but, Mad Men’s Mason Vale Cotton and Game Shaker’s Benjamin Flores, Jr. will voice Arnold and Gerald.
Though we don’t know much about the movie yet, we do know that it will start right where the show ended in 2004.
So if you grew up saying things like “stoop kid’s afraid to leave his stoop,” this is a television event you won’t want to miss.
