This is How Billy Zane Thinks “Titanic” Should Have Ended

As someone who spent the majority of their childhood watching Titanic and tried to live vicariously through Rose to get to Jack, I was surprised to learn how actor Billy Zane (Cal in the film) wanted the movie to end.

Zane, who is now 50, was on the Today show to discuss his latest series, Guilt, when he spoke about a shocking alternative ending to Titanic. “He was a little misunderstood,” Zane said about Cal. “I wasn’t the iceberg. I did not drown 2,000 people.”

He continued, “I think he found redemption by the end and I wish he had found her on the (rescue boat) Carpathia and was able to right his wrongs.”

I’m sorry Zane but there is no way fans (like myself) would want Rose and Cal to end up together! Let’s not forget about the time Cal framed Jack and slapped Rose across the face. He was a complete douche.

Zane further went on to explain how fans still ask him about his role in the movie. “Where’s the diamond?” he says they ask. Followed by, “I don’t know what Rose was thinking!”

Billy, dream on. You don’t mess with the love between Jack and Rose.
