When it comes to the title of today’s top country star, Luke Bryan takes the cake. From “Play It Again” to “Drink a Beer” nearly every song Bryan releases becomes a hit, making even people who detest country music tap their foot along to the beat of his catchy tunes. The star has released five studio albums, which have amounted to one of the biggest careers in country music.
The Georgia-native most definitely has fame and fortune. To date, the singer has managed to sell over 7 million albums and 27 million singles worldwide. Being one of the most popular stars in country music must come with financial perks.
As of 2018 Luke Bryan is worth $70 million.
For a career that is just now celebrating only a decade of music-making, it’s safe to say Bryan’s earnings aren’t too shabby. However, this 40-year-old doesn’t show signs of slowing down, so his $70 million net worth could certainly go up in the years to come.
2006 – 2008
While many successful stars in the music industry start extremely young, Bryan scored his ticket to fame a little later in life. The musician graduated from Georgia Southern University before moving to Tennessee to pursue music. Once he stepped foot in Nashville his career began almost immediately. He first joined a publishing house, getting cuts on other artist’s tracks. Bryan quickly signed a recording contract of his own with Capitol Nashville. He released his first single “All My Friends” which debuted at number five on Hot Country Songs. By August 2007, Bryan’s first album I’ll Stay Me was released.
2009 – 2010
In 2009, Bryan collaborated with Charles Kelley, Lady Antebellum and Dave Haywood on the song “Do I,” which became a huge success debuting at number two on the Hot Country Songs Charts. Bryan included this hit single on his second album, which he released just over two years after his debut album. In October 2009 Bryan’s album Doin’ My Thing came out. This record seemed to sell well with audiences and critics as it got good reviews and produced two hit singles. “Rain Is a Good Thing” and “Somebody Else Calling You Baby” took the number one spot on the country charts. In 2010, Bryan released an EP for the second album adding 3 new songs to his repertoire.
2011 – 2013
Bryan was a music-making machine, releasing an album every two years with several singles in between. The year 2011 saw the country star’s big break. He released the single “Country Girl (Shake It For Me),” which not only landed at number four on the Hot Country Songs Charts but also made its way into the top 25 songs on the Billboard Hot 100. This single was quickly followed by the album Tailgates & Tanlines, released in August 2011. The record took the number one spot on the Billboard Top Country Albums and number two on the Billboard Hot 200. Then in January 2013, Bryan released his first compilation album, Spring Break… Here to Party, which not only took the number one spot on the Billboard Top Country Albums but also the Billboard 200. It was also in 2013 that Luke Bryan went on his first headlining tour. As if this wasn’t enough, Bryan also released his fourth studio album “Crash My Party,” in August 2013, raking in more even more success
In 2014, Luke Bryan went on another tour titled “That’s My Kind of Night.” Though usually by the time an artist is on tour his/her latest album starts to plateau, it was the complete opposite for Bryan in the case of his fourth album. Crash My Party ended up having six singles on the Billboard’s Hot Country Songs Chart and Mediabase Country chart. Bryan is the only current country singer to accomplish this in one album.
In 2015, Bryan released yet another EP with 5 new original songs. He released the single “Kick the Dust Up,” yet again landing a number one spot on the Country Airplay Charts. He then released his fifth studio album on August 4, 2015, selling 345,000 copies in the first week alone. The album had a total of four singles, all getting recognition on music charts. Bryan went on tour again in 2015. This tour was titled “Kick Up The Dust Tour.”
He is touring yet again in 2016. The name of his latest tour is “Kill the Lights Tour,” and it started in February 2016 and will conclude in October of that same year.
Bryan’s “Kill the Lights Tour” continues on into 2017. He has upcoming shows along the East coast. Tickets are available for his March 1st show at Madison Square Garden in New York, NY.
If anything, it seems like Bryan’s success and cash flow only gets stronger with age. While many stars fade as they approach the years of their 30s, this country singer is still thriving at 40 years old. All signs show that Bryan’s net worth will only continue to skyrocket from here.
Luke Bryan extended his tour ‘What Makes You Country’ and it will go on from April through September.
