Let’s face it: Margot Robbie‘s Harley Quinn was one of the best things about Suicide Squad (if not, the best thing). When the film premiered, critics didn’t take too kindly to it. Most agreed in saying that Robbie’s version of Harley Quinn was a highlight. Even before Suicide Squad came out, it was said that Robbie would be starring in a proposed film centered around Harley Quinn for Warner Bros. Now, there’s official confirmation that Robbie is going to not only star in the spin-off, but she’ll produce the flick as well! We’re honestly so excited to see the enigmatic maven on the big screen again. We’re not alone either, Twitter blew up over the news of the film:
Unfortunately, we’ll have to wait a bit longer to see the Queen of Gotham back in action again. Robbie and her production company LuckyChap Entertainment, who will be producing the Harley Quinn movie, have a couple of other projects on their docket. The company just finished on the film Terminal, which is set to be released next year. They also announced plans for two biopics, Queen of the Air, based on the life of trapeze artist Lillian Leitzel, and a movie centered on figure skater Tonya Harding, both of which Robbie will star in and produce.
Hopefully, the film will still be out sooner rather than later. Robbie was born to play Harley Quinn and we’ll be counting down the days until we can see the Ms. Quinn in a film of her own. By the way, we wouldn’t be too sad if the Joker had to skip out on this one. We’ll just be there for Harley anyway.
