Today, Intel Security announced their 10th annual list of the most dangerous celebrities online. This list is compiled of celebrities who have higher chances of being connected to a site that has viruses or malware due to the intensity of how many times their names and projects are searched.
“Consumers today remain fascinated with celebrity culture and go online to find the latest pop culture news,” said Gary Davis, chief consumer security evangelist at Intel Security, in a statement on the company’s website. “With this craving for real-time information, many search and click without considering potential security risks. Cybercriminals know this and take advantage of this behavior by attempting to lead them to unsafe sites loaded with malware.”
So the next time you are searching for the latest gossip, be mindful of what links you may click. You never know who may lead you down a dangerous path.
