According to People, Brad Pitt took a drug test voluntarily as part of an investigation with the Department of Children and Family Services. The actor is cooperating fully after being accused of being verbally abusive and “getting physical” with his 15-year-old son, Maddox earlier this month. This incident was reported anonymously, and a DCFS spokesperson said that drug testing parents during abuse investigations is “very standard.”
“He takes the matter very seriously and says he did not commit any abuse of his children,” a source told People. “It’s unfortunate that people involved are continuing to present him in the worst possible light.” Another source said, “Brad has been interviewed and is cooperating fully. The case remains open.”
The FBI is gathering evidence to decide if they’ll pursue the investigation on a federal level, especially since the incident with Maddox occurred mid-flight. Sources told Us that Pitt was also caught on tape “looking drunk” and “yelling” at his wife and their children aboard a private jet on Wednesday, September 14.
Although Angelina Jolie cited substance abuse and anger issues as some of her reasons for filing the divorce, Pitt seems focused on proving himself a worthy parent, and has reiterated his concerns for his family’s wellbeing since the split became public.
