8 Instagram Accounts That Will Make You Feel Instantly Less Stressed

If there’s one thing that can really affect your mood, it’s social media. You know the feeling when you’ve had a long day, only to log onto Facebook and get overwhelmed by what you see. Everything is bad all at the same time. Whether it’s an article about the upcoming election, personal statuses that you don’t agree with or news reports about world tragedies, it’s easy to get into a bad mood from the online negativity.

But social media doesn’t need to add to your stress! If your timeline is filled to the brim with posts you can’t deal with at the moment, we recommend going to Instagram. In addition to being photo-based (no debates over Facebook statuses here!), Instagram has many accounts that will cheer you up pretty much instantly. If you like using social media to decompress and relax, we’d recommend following these accounts ASAP:

Cats are weird creatures in general, but this Instagram takes it to a whole new level. @cashcats features felines that are literally rolling wads of money. Not only is it funny, but having cute kitties on your feed will help calm you down through a stressful day.

If you haven’t heard of Rupi Kaur yet, you’ll know her soon. A modern poet and artist, she uses her experiences as a woman of color to evoke gorgeous art, as demonstrated in her book Milk and Honey. Seriously, she gets us in, like, four words. Her Instagram features both her poetry and her photography, which can be very soothing if you’ve had a bad day.

Animal accounts are the best. Foodie accounts are the best. One woman combined them both with the CUTEST DOG I HAVE EVER SEEN IN MY LIFE. Popeye was rescued by his owner a few years ago. She has since discovered that he has better control around food than most humans do, so she began the most adorable foodie account in existence. I’m not even exaggerating a bit when I say I could go through this account for hours.
