The star is not keen on the media but the media is definitely still interested in who she’s dating. Her relationships have certainly been pretty high-profile over the years. From a romance with one of her Twilight co-stars to a dalliance with a director, Stewart’s love life has been widely reported on. Now, Stewart seems to be more open to talking about her dating history after she has been linked to women. She told Elle UK, “Actually, to hide this provides the implication that I’m not down with it… so I had to alter how I approached being in public. Michael Angarano 2005 – 2009
Stewart’s first major relationship was with her Speak co-star, Michael Angarano. The two met on the set of the indie film in 2005 and dated until 2009. The couple’s relationship was seemingly strong until Stewart’s Twilight series, and co-star Robert Pattinson, got in the way. The two tried to deny rumors that Stewart’s relationship with Pattinson got in the way of their own. Alas, the rumors became too much for the couple and they called it quits in 2009.
Robert Pattinson 2009 – 2013
Coincidentally, right after Stewart broke up with Angarano, she and Pattinson started dating. The couple was seriously the OTP of our dreams during all of the Twilight mania. Bella and Edward together in real life? It was perfect! They were seen cozying up together everywhere from Coachella to each other’s film sets. Although the Twilight stars tried to keep their relationship private, everyone knew about the couple. From press junkets to concerts “Robsten” was the talk of the town. When it was revealed that Stewart had an affair with her Snow White and the Huntsman director, Rupert Sanders, that was it for the pair and they broke up in mid-2012. Stewart and Pattinson reunited at the beginning of 2013 but couldn’t get past the cheating drama and split up shortly after.
Rupert Sanders 2012
Stewart’s brief relationship with Sanders kind of overlaps with her time with Pattinson. The two worked together on Snow White and the Huntsman and reportedly started an affair while Stewart was still with Pattinson and Sanders was married to Liberty Ross. Yikes! Pictures of the pair were posted everywhere and there was no denying that there was a fling going on. Exact details on the affair were never revealed but as soon as those images were released, both Stewart and Sanders issued apologies and they were never seen together publicly again.
Alicia Cargile 2015 – 2016
Alicia Cargile started out as Stewart’s personal assistant and a relationship developed from there. As previously stated, Stewart spoke to Elle UK about her relationships with women and related being so much happier now. She didn’t mention Cargile by name, but it was clear that Stewart’s relationship with her was the source of much of that happiness. Cargile even met Stewart’s mom and won her approval. Although, things were rocky for the pair throughout their entire relationship. They were on-and-off throughout their time together. The off portion of their coupledom is unfortunately where they’re at right now.
St. Vincent 2016 – Present
Stewart’s relationship with St. Vincent (whose real name is Annie Clark) is pretty new. The two have been inseparable ever since Stewart has been in NYC promoting her new films.
