Justin Bieber stormed off stage during a show in Manchester Sunday night when fans started screaming while he tried to talk. When he asked them to stop, those screams quickly turned to boos.
“I appreciate the support, I appreciate the kind things…but the screaming during these breaks has GOT to stop, please and thank you,” Bieber said during a break. In response, fans started booing. “I don’t think that’s necessary. I want to be able to say something, when you guys are screaming it’s hard to…” before he could finish the thought, Bieber dropped his microphone and walked off stage.

Things turned sour earlier on in the night when Bieber tried to connect with his audience, only to get bombarded with their screams. “If you wanna take this moment and…I just thought we could have a moment to say something. But if not, I’ll just get to singing if you don’t want to hear me speak. I don’t mind cutting the bullshit because I don’t need to talk. I’m just trying to engage. But, if you guys don’t want to do that we can just play the music,” he said before he started to sing “Purpose.”
Afterwards he tried one last time, saying that he wanted noting more than to “connect” with those in the audience. But because the screams didn’t stop, he gave up halfway through his speech and announced that he would just stop talking. Naturally, that got a ton of cheers.
“I’m not quite sure why you guys came tonight. Hopefully it was to enjoy my company as well as invite me enjoying your company. I feel like I want to connect, you know? My point of the no screaming thing is when I’m looking you in the eyes, you can actually know that we’re having a moment, having a connection right? So it’s not me trying to be an asshole, it’s simply me wanting to have a moment. Manchester, you guys are awesome. I appreciate you. But then there has to be all these, I just…I’m just going to quit talking, alright? I’m just not going to talk the rest of the night. We’re just going to do the music…because obviously Manchester can’t handle it. So we’re just going to do the music.”
I mean, can you blame them? They just spent a f*ck ton to see their favorite artist! Obviously they’re excited to be there. Eventually Biebs came back onstage and finished his show, but not before he tried to explain once again why he was getting so upset.
The only reason why I was getting upset was because I traveled across the whole world to come here. I don’t just have a quick flight, come in and out, I dedicated my life to this. I dedicated my life to performing. I dedicated my life to try to bring smiles to these faces and I feel like people are just not giving me the same respect back is all, it hurts a little bit. So that’s why. I appreciate you guys coming out.

Dude, we get it, but come on — is your fans not wanting to listen to you talk the worst thing that can happen to you?! They’re there for the music! Just play. Many fans seemed to agree.
“I’ll never go to a Justin Bieber concert again after how rude he was to the crowd in Manchester,” one tweeter wrote. “Love bieber but he has to stay humble and remember his fans put him on that stage..,” another added.

Others were just really pissed at the fans.
“Justin didn’t perform purpose tonight because people were booing him, how inconsiderate can people be.. respect him,” one person tweeted. “Don’t get why people don’t listen – he’s a normal human being and it’s rude,” another chimed in. “People said they are disappointed at @justinbieber last night, but the crowd was a true disappointment lol,” another person responded.
