Shirlene Quigley, a 32-year-old backup dancer for Rihanna who’s also graced the stage with Beyonce and Missy Elliott, has gone missing. The New Jersey resident was last seen getting on a bus at the Port Authority Bus Terminal in New York at around 1:00 A.M. Sunday. Her father called the police after he didn’t hear from her that night as he usually does.
While police have already started an investigation, Rihanna is also trying to use her powerful platform to find Quigley. In an emotional Instagram post, the singer asks her fans for help.
“This beautiful soul, and former dancer of mine is MISSING!!! My heart aches thinking of how heavy this is on all who love her! If anyone has seen or has any information on @shirlenequigley‘s whereabouts ….. PLEASE CONTACT the North Bergen Police Department 201 392 2100 !!!!”
Missy Elliott posted a similar message: “This is @shirlenequigley she’s been missing since Friday she is so loved & we pray for her safe return.. if u have any information or seen her please contact North Bergen police 201-392-2100 she was last seen at 12:55 am at Port Authority. According to police, Quigley’s cell phone was found in a bridal store in New York City, where they believe she was picking up something for a show. But a recent comment to her friend is making people suspicious: “Get ready, it’s about to happen and I’m going to need you to sub for me.”
Her landlord witnessed Quigley leaving her home Saturday and told a friend she didn’t look well. “I just want her to come home, or if someone has her to let her be,” her father told NBC New York. “She’s everything to me. She’s why I live.”
Quigley’s career took off when she was 18, after she danced alongside Beyonce in the “Crazy in Love” music video. She currently teaches dance at Peridance Capezio Center in North Bergen and Broadway Dance Center in Manhattan.
After an extensive search by North Bergen Police Department Detectives in cooperation with the NYPD, Shirlene Quigley has been found. According to a post on the police department’s Instagram page, “She is safe and at a medical facility which location is undisclosed at this time. North Bergen Police Detectives have contacted her father and he is in route from Los Angeles to reunite with his daughter. We are very pleased with this outcome. We want to thank the New York City Police Department for their tremendous amount of cooperation in this matter.”
