Hilary Duff was bashed this weekend for her bizarre Halloween costume choice. While attending the annual Casamigos’ Halloween Party on Friday, the woman responsible for the Laguna Beach theme song dressed as a sexy pilgrim while her new boyfriend Jason Walsh dressed as a Native American.

Yeah… not the smartest choice in the world. And like most things these days, the internet was not having it. “I was just sayin [sic] how I appreciate Hilary Duff for being unproblematic,” one tweeter wrote with an amazing Kris Jenner reaction photo attached.

The sentiment was similar throughout Twitter. But after a few days of controversy, Duff has finally released an apology via Twitter. “I am SO sorry to people I offended with my costume,” she wrote Sunday afternoon. “It was not properly thought through and I am truly, from the bottom of my [heart] sorry.”
The message seemed to get a mix response, with several saying the costumes weren’t offensive in the first place, while others announced their forgiveness. Then there were people who gave zero f*cks about her apology.
