When I was flying home for Thanksgiving this year, I angrily cursed my tablet and American Airlines for not letting me play Gilmore Girls during my flight. I mean, what is that?! I needed to catch up before Gilmore Girls: A Year In The Life dropped! Thankfully Netflix is turning these sad situations around with their newest feature: offline mode.
Now that you’ve heard the good news, here’s how it works. For now, you can only download movies and series on your smartphone or tablet. It’s incredibly simple — just click the download button on the details page for a film or TV series and you can watch it whenever, regardless of whether or not you have an internet connection. Just make sure to update your Netflix app and you should be good to go.
Since the new feature is still in its early stages, not all of Netflix’s offerings are immediately available to download. However, many of their original shows like Orange is the New Black, The Crown and Narcos are, and more shows will be added over time. Honestly, as long as they’ve got Stranger Things on there, we’re good. Can’t wait to watch that series for the 15th time.
Thanks for loving us as much as we love you, Netflix!
