Gwen Stefani apparently has some pent-up feelings about her boyfriend’s ex-wife, Miranda Lambert. Stefani, 47, is currently dating country artist Blake Shelton, and “is ready to unleash some very personal songs about Miranda being the constant third wheel in her life.” Ouch.
Stefani has also written some songs calling Miranda out for giving Blake Shelton up so easily. Lambert and Shelton were married for four years, and Stefani’s 13-year marriage to Gavin Rossdale ended a month later.
Several months later, while filming the ninth season of The Voice, Shelton and Stefani went public with their romance and went on to release albums about their heartbreak and finding love again. They even wrote a song together, “Go Ahead and Break My Heart.”
It’s possible that Stefani’s songs are in response to Miranda Lambert‘s album, The Weight of These Wings, which she saw as a “direct shot at her and Blake,” and now she wants to fight back with some musical words of her own.
“[Gwen Stefani] had really tried to take the high road, but that is over. Miranda won’t see it coming, and that is what Gwen is counting on.”
