Everyone knows that Nickelback is one of the worst bands in the world, except for Avril Lavigne, who married the group’s lead singer Chad Kroeger in 2013. We assumed that when they split in 2015, it had something to do with her ears bleeding after listening to their debut album, but apparently we were wrong.
In a video introducing Facebook’s new AI program Jarvis, CEO Mark Zuckerburg asks the AI to “play us some good Nickelback songs.” Jarvis, which had the voice of Morgan Freeman, responded with ““I’m sorry Mark, I’m afraid I can’t do that. There are no good Nickelback songs.” Zuckerberg approved: “Good. That was actually a test.”
Despite the assumption that most exes hate each other, Lavigne did not take the joke lightly.
“Many people use your products — some people love them and some people don’t. either way, you’re allowed your musical opinion however, your jab at Nickelback is in poor taste,” the singer wrote in a note she tweeted out to Facebook. “When you have a voice like yours, you may want to consider being more responsible with promoting bullying, especially given what’s going on in the world today. #SayNoToBullying #TheJokeIsOld #NickelbackHasSoldOver50MillionAlbums.”

Um…. really? Her response really gives the whole “Avril Lavigne is actually dead and has been replaced with a cyborg” theory more relevance. What do you think? Is Zuckerberg really bullying Nickelback? Sound off in the comments below.
