New Year’s Day 2017: Is Mail Delivered On New Years Day/Eve?

Made some last-minute holiday purchases? Whether you’re treating yourself or realized your mom deserved another gift, find out if mail delivers on NYE. Since New Year’s Eve isn’t a federal holiday and falls on a Saturday, mail will still run as usual. Read on to find out if your packages will still deliver on time.

Does The United States Deliver Mail On New Year’s Eve?

Mail will still run this Saturday on New Year’s Eve. You’ll still get your letters, but if you’re expecting a package, you might have to wait until 2017.

FedEx Express and SmartPost will have modified service on NYE, meaning it will make regular pickups and on-call pickups that have been scheduled by the preceding Friday. SmartPost will make normal deliveries, but no pickups. FedEx Ground will be closed while FedEx Home Delivery will still be open. FedEx Freight will be closed while FedEx Office will close by 6:00 P.M.

UPS will be closed on NYE.
