It has a decade since the legendary year of 2007. Things were very different then, so different that it sometimes becomes hard to remember just how exactly we as a population operated from day to day.
In 2007, you probably wore Aeropostale. You signed onto AIM after school every day, wished you had a Blackberry or a Sidekick like Paris Hilton and probably wished you could score tickets to see the Spice Girls live during their reunion tour. You may have loved The Hills and been totally addicted to the High School Musical soundtrack, but in the end, you might not remember the year itself because you’re too busy thanking God that you still don’t have to wear braces.

1. Kim Kardashian.
Not only was Kim Kardashian‘s infamous sex tape released in 2007, but her whole family was brought to TV screens later that year with the premiere of Keeping Up With the Kardashians. 10 years later it doesn’t look like we’re getting rid of the Kardashian crew anytime soon.
2. Naomi Campbell wore couture to community service.
Naomi Campbell was known for her temper in 2007 and during her trial the supermodel was known to be resistant to the efforts of the legal system. She not only wore a Dolce & Gabbana gown during her community service hours, but she also donned a hoodie that read “Naomi hit me.”
3. Britney Spears had a rough year.
The former pop princess did not have an easy year. She shaved her head and bashed in a paparazzi’s car door with an umbrella.
4. Paris Hilton went to jail.
The hotel heiress was released after 23 days in jail. She went on to say she had changed her party girl ways. She also told Larry King that her favorite part of the Bible, which she claimed to have read in prison, was “all of it.”
5. Miley Cyrus looked like this.
Miley Cyrus was known as a budding pop star, leading the cast of her popular Disney Channel show Hannah Montana.
6. Miss Teen South Carolina answered a question flawlessly.

8. Love was still alive, thanks to Zac Efron and Vanessa Hudgens.
The couple starred in the megahit High School Musical and made headlines as everyone’s fave teen dream. They would date for several more years before eventually splitting.

The biggest girl group of all time reunited to tour the world and sell out arenas, singing their hits and making it their last time together as a band.
10. The iPhone made its debut.
Steve Jobs changed history as he introduced the iPhone. Now the iPhone is the most common cell phone and is celebrating 10 years of service.
