Modern romance is… giving your significant other shoes during chemistry lab at school. After Mark Cadiz took to Twitter with a hilarious snap about swapping shoes with his girlfriend for her science class, his photos went viral for all of the right reasons.
Mark and Vanessa are 20-year-old students at the University of Hawaii. Vanessa was worried about being able to participate in her lab when Mark came in to save the day.
“When I realized that I wasn’t wearing the proper attire (my professor is really strict on dress code), instead of driving all the way back home to get shoes, Mark insisted that I take his,” Vanessa told BuzzFeed.
Vanessa said that this is typical chivalry from Mark, who she admitted insists on carrying her books across campus and printing her papers for her. They’ve known each other since middle school, but have been dating for a year.
The adorable act of kindness has a lot of Twitter users replying with #GOALS and swooning, but there is also some confusion: how the hell do these two have similarly sized feet? The couple took to their Twitter bios to respond.
Luckily they don’t seem to take themselves too seriously, though Vanessa has said Mark is becoming quite the diva in light of his recent attention.
“Mark keeps telling everyone, ‘You’re speaking to a celebrity,'” Vanessa told BuzzFeed. “So he’s enjoying his 15 minutes of fame.”
Ellen, if you’re reading this, please give him the real A-list treatment and send him a pair of Louboutins in a size 7.5. He deserves them.
