Its been one year since we’ve lost a bright star. Pop singer Christina Grimmie quickly rose to fame on YouTube under the username zeldaxlove64. She later made a major debut when she participated in the NBC singing competition The Voice, where she finished in third place. Since then she’s released two albums: With Love and All is Vanity.
Unfortunately, Grimmie was unable to see the success of her second album. She died at the age of 22 on June 10, 2016 after Kevin James Loibl, a crazed fan, shot her at a meet-and-greet after her Orlando concert. The singer was later buried in a private ceremony on June 16th.

A year later, we still feel her absence deeply. Grimmie’s family and fans paid the singer tribute on Sunday by sending messages on her Facebook and Instagram pages, which still remain open. According to the Orlando Sentinel, fans gathered at The Plaza Live where Grimmie was shot for the anniversary of her death.
“We want to take this moment to say thank you to Christina’s legion on fans worldwide and all the partners who contributed and are still contributing to her legacy,” Grimmie’s family wrote in a statement. “Your prayers, love, encouragement and support have been felt by us as a family and we are humbled and deeply appreciative. We too, are still healing, but know that we love each and every one of you.”
Grimmie’s family released her album All is Vanity on June 9th. According to her brother, Grimmie had about 50-60 songs recorded since 2015.
