Sick Note: Everything You Need to Know Including a Comeback from Lindsay Lohan

Harry Potter meets Mean Girls?

Actually, it may be a tad too soon to deem it a “comeback” for Lindsay Lohan, but Lohan pointed out on both Instagram and Twitter that she’s “back on set” for a new British television comedy, Sick Note, starring Rupert Grint best known for his character Ron Weasley in Harry Potter, Nick Frost and Don Johnson.

The show, created by Nat Saunders and James Serafinowicz, will air on British network Sky1 and streaming service NOW TV in the fall, but Lohan will not appear in the first season.

The comedy follows Grint who gets a misdiagnosis of a terminal illness by his odd doctor, Frost, who convinces Grint to lie to everyone in his life about the illness ultimately spiraling out of control. Grint is trapped in a failing relationship and an insurance job with an uncontrollable boss, played by Johnson who quickly realize that people treat him better when they believe that he is dying.

Sky1’s head of comedy, Jon Mountague, said, “One lie leads to the next in this unsettlingly brilliant comedy that will hook viewers in and have them on the very edge of their seats.”

Lohan will join the cast in season two as Katrina West, the daughter of Johnson.

So, it appears that Lohan and Grint will not be related to the show despite their similar hair color. Now everyone can breathe a sigh of relief.

Executive producer, Jo Sargent, commented “We are thrilled to be making a second series of this nail-biting comedy and very excited to be welcoming the extraordinary talents of Lindsay Lohan to our all-star cast.

Aside from guest starring on shows such as Ugly Betty and Late Night with Jimmy Fallon, Lohan’s last big role was in Just My Luck back in 2006.

It’s clearly been a tough decade for Lohan, but her fans on social media have been excited to hear the news of her potential new role.

Lohan has been living in London for the past few years and has developed an arguably bizarre new accent that she is calling “Lilohan” which she claims is from studying new languages such as Turkish and Arabic, but it just sounds like the fake British accent celebrities get when they live in London for too long like Madonna.

But because Sick Note is a British comedy, Lohan will have to follow through on the accent and we haven’t seen that side Lohan since Parent Trap.

She’s definitely been keeping busy as she has also landed her own reality show called The Anti-Social Network in which Lohan will hijack people’s social media in the style of Punk’d.

Maybe this will be the year for Lohan to get on track and make it big again, but first, let’s see how funny Sick Note really is. As an edgier, grown-up comedy, the show has taken the 10:00 PM slot on Sky1. Some other shows in the fall lineup include Bliss, another adult comedy starring Stephan Mangan and Heather Graham, and Bounty Hunters, a new action-comedy starring Jack Whitehall and Freddy Syborn.
