The newest members of Taiwan’s National Police Agency (NPA) aren’t exactly what comes to mind when you think of tough law-enforcement officials. They’re actually adorable puppies, and they’re only one month old. Mashable reports that the adorable six Labrador puppies are set to be trained for NPA’s K-9 Anti-Bomb and Drug Unit based in Taipei. The six puppies names are Lucky Star, Schumann, Feida, Brother AJ and Full Moon. NPA first posted about the new police puppies on their Facebook. page.
The new K-9 recruits’ mom, a dog named Yellow, is also part of Taiwan’s NPA’s K-9 unit and her new pups will hopefully follow in her pawprints. “We hope that in the future the puppies can be like their mother Yellow, that they can pass through training successfully and enter the police force,” the NPA stated in a Facebook post that announced the arrival of the adorable puppies.
These brand new crime fighters won’t be sniffing out bombs right away, especially considering they don’t even fit into their bullet proof vests yet. These future officers’ only job right now is to not sleep all day and to keep their eyes open.
