Louis Tomlinson Has Revealed The Name Of His First Solo Single

|

Louis Tomlinson, a former member of One Direction and current solo artist, has had a quite dramatic past couple of years.

From the breakup of One Direction to the birth of his son to the tragic death of his mother, Tomlinson’s life has been full of highs and lows, to say the least.

The singer recently revealed that his first solo single will be called “Back To You” and is dropping July 21. With the other four members of One Direction starting solo careers, it’s not a surprise that Tomlinson is eager to hop on the bandwagon. He even teased his fans with a 12-second preview, adding more anticipation.

The song features BeBe Rexha and Digital Animal Farms, who released the summer hit, “Digital Love,” along with Hailee Steinfeld.

In an interview with The Guardian’s Observer, Tomlinson said, “If you’d asked me a year or 18 months ago, ‘Are you going to do anything as a solo artist?’ I’d have said absolutely not… You know I didn’t sing a solo on the X Factor … A lot of people can take the piss out of that. But when you actually think about how that feels, standing on stage every single week thinking: ‘What have I really done to contribute here? Sing a lower harmony that you can’t really hear in the mix? The kid wearing espadrilles, stood in back.'”

He also labeled himself as the “forgettable member of One Direction.”

This tugs at the heart strings a bit. Tomlinson was the favorite member of the band for many people, and he played as significant a role in their success as the other members did. This shows that even the people who seem to have it all still have insecurities.

But lucky for us, Tomlinson pushed through his struggles and landed himself right back in the studio. One thing’s for sure; the fans are hyped.

We can’t wait to hear the full version and see what else Tomlinson’s beautiful voice has to offer us in the future.
