With National Daiquiri Day coming up it means it’s time for us to get outside, sit by the pool and enjoy as many daiquiri’s as we want. Everyone will be filling up their glass with that sweet summer drink so join in with all the others!
This beloved drink was created in the early 1900s in a small mining town of Daiquiri near Santiago, Cuba. Jennings Stockton Cox, an engineer, came up with this refreshing concoction during the hot summer heat. He mixed lime juice, sugar and local Bacardi rum over cracked ice.
Later, an admiral delivered this recipe unto The Army and Navy Club in Washington, D.C. After that, people in America started to create this drink as a low-down frozen daiquiri, which is what most of us know now.
There is no traditional way that people spend this holiday but typically if chosen to take part on the day it involves many, many daiquiris. Most people gather with their family and friends to spend a nice evening under the summer sun while enojoying the refreshing drink.
So raise your glass and celebrate National Daiquiri Day with us, cheers!
