KJ Apa has made a name for himself in the United States in a short amount of time. Maybe it was his abs and not his boyish charm that secured him the role as Archie Andrews on Riverdale, but either way no one is complaining.

KJ is originally from New Zealand and started acting when he was 16-years-old. He was part of a New Zealand’s longest running soap opera Shortland Street. Since his soap stint KJ was casted in A Dog’s Purpose, which came under fire for animal abuse. But then he was casted as Archie Andrews on Riverdale and the world swooned. Seriously, he became a teen heartthrob over night after the premiere.

On top of acting he also plays the guitar, piano and can sing.
