5 Sexy Summer Romance Novels For Hopeless Romantics

|

Grab the wine and the tissues!

Cozy up on the couch or lay on the beach and check out these heart-wrenching love stories with a bit of a sinful side to them. As a romance novel enthusiast, I admit that titles, covers and even back-of-the-book synopses can all sound the same so it can be difficult to know where to dive in. So, how do you know which steamy, feminist-friendly, romance novels are worth it? Start with this captivating list of five of my absolute favorites and if you can’t find one you like after that, we’ll talk.

1. Ugly Love by Colleen Hoover

(BOOK BARISTAS)

When Tate Collins meets airline pilot Miles Archer, she wouldn’t even consider them friends. But their intense, mutual attraction for each other is completely undeniable. Tate doesn’t have time for love with her busy schedule studying the medical field and Miles doesn’t have time for love with his abnormal hours flying planes, so that just leaves sex. Their arrangement of sticking to just physical pleasure at both of their conveniences is surprisingly simple as long as Tate can stick to the two rules Miles laid out for her: “Never ask about the past. Don’t expect a future.”

2. Left Drowning by Jessica Park

(GOODREADS)

Blythe McGuire is dragging along the weight coming with tragically losing her parents in a fire a few years prior. As she slugs through her final year at Matthews College struggling to see a future for herself, she discovers an undeniable attraction to a fellow senior named Chris Shepard who has an equally tragic past. Chris saves Blythe from allowing her monster past trying to consume her. She begins to heal and fall in love with the man who saved her, but even though she is healing, she realizes that Chris is still stuck in his own past.

3. The Edge of Never by J.A. Redmerski

(GOODREADS)

Camryn Bennet always knew she wanted something more in life than just the same repetitive patterns every day. She is set to move in with her best friend and intends to start a new job, but an encounter in a nightclub causes her to leave her typical, mundane life behind. Camryn boards a Greyhound bus by herself with no destination or purpose in order to figure herself out. She finds a guy named Andrew Parrish, who is allowing his own dark secrets to simmer, but she promises to never let her own walls down. Andrew shows Camryn what a real adventure looks like and gives in to what she really wants. The road trip becomes her new, daring life, uncovering emotions and lust she didn’t know she had in her.

4. Waiting for Wyatt by S.D. Hendrickson

(GOODREADS)

Emma Sawyer met Charlie and Wyatt on the same day. Charlie was a little dog that Emma found sitting in a pool of its own blood, waiting for her. Wyatt wasn’t waiting for anyone or at least he didn’t think he was. Emma wanted to save Wyatt just like Wyatt was able to save Charlie and so many other dogs like him. She fell hard and fast for this mystery boy, but that was before she learned his secret.

5. One True Loves by Taylor Jenkins Reid

(GOODREADS)

A breathtaking love story about a woman, Emma Blair, who unexpectedly has to choose between the husband who she thought was long dead and the fiancee who revived her after the tragic “death” of her husband. Emma married her high school sweetheart, Jesse. They built a wonderful life for themselves outside what was expected of them far away from their hometown. Until Jesse goes missing on their one month anniversary. Emma quits her job and moves back home to build a new life for herself. She runs into an old friend, Sam, and she finds herself falling in love again. They get engaged and Emma believes she was given another chance at happiness, until Jesse is found, alive.
