Can’t wait for the second season of Stranger Things? If you take a walk through Logan Square in Chicago, chances are you’ll find just the thing to hold you over. The Upside Down pop-up bar is open for business and it’s entirely inspired by the Netflix show. Don’t believe me? Let’s take a closer look.
Originally, the bar was opened as a project by Emporium Popups, a company that specializes in a “series of rotating bar/music/shop experience.” The bar offers seven different types of themed cocktails that fans of the show would recognize at a glance. One popular drink that has Instagrammers buzzing is “Eleven’s Eggos” – which is essentially a boozy slushie complete with a waffle garnish. Yup… A waffle.

Apart from the strange assortment of cocktails, the interior design of the bar is simply amazing. The entrance alone makes visitors feel as though they were infiltrating the Hawkins Department of Energy. Once inside, customers will be assaulted with colorful lights adorning the walls reminiscent of the Christmas lights on the show. Kick back and relax on the Byers’ family couch, complete with an old AV rig.

Better act fast if you want to visit. As with all pop-up bars, they’re only around for a limited time. The Upside Down is only expected to remain open until the end of September, so get your fill of waffle cocktails while you can.
