VMAs 2017 Live Stream: How To Watch The Video Music Awards Online

The 2017 VMAs has arrived and we are hyped. At last year’s awards, Drake publicly professed his love to Rihanna and Adele dominated the ceremony with the most wins. While this year, there were major changes in the music industry. Lorde made a comeback, Noah Cyrus followed in her sister’s footsteps and Camilla Cabello left Fifth Harmony. Also, many artists have used their music as a platform to reflect political and social attitudes and it’ll be interesting to see who’s rewarded for their efforts.

There has already been a major change this year in response to the country’s political turmoil. The award trophy is a silver astronaut, and originally called the “Moonman,” it’s now referred to as the “Moon Person.” MTV president Chris McCarthy told the New York Times, “Why should it be a man? It could be a man, it could be a woman, it could be transgender, it could be nonconformist.” We couldn’t agree more.

Adding to this change, MTV has also gotten rid of gendered categories, like Best Female Video and Best Male Video. It’s now simply Artist of the Year. Tune in to see how you can watch one of the year’s biggest nights in music.
