Fall? What’s that? I’ve never heard of it.
What do I call the segment of months during which we don flannels, cozy up under blankets and sip hot drinks by a fire while plotting our Halloween costumes? What do I call that time of year? Three words:
That’s right. Pumpkin spice season has arrived. The first day of that which we traditionally call fall brings on a whole new world of pumpkin spiced items from Oreos to coffee, but if there’s one thing we really didn’t need altered, despite the holidays, it’s pizza.
Yes, everyone, the pizza has been compromised. I repeat, the pizza has been compromised.
Villa Italian Kitchen is a chain restaurant dedicated to its Italian-style innovations and their latest experiment is a PSL-za. The restaurant describes the pizza as “cozy” while also traditional. I personally describe it as all the way f*cked up.
What did Twitter users have to say about this Frankenstein of a meal? The reactions were mixed.

list of items that don't belong on pizza has a new #1: pumpkin spice. #2: pineapple

The radio just said something about pumpkin spice pizza… ugh, stop the madness 😩😖

There is a silver lining here: this pizza monstrosity is only available for a single day, Friday, September 22. That said, the horror behind it remains. Nothing is sacred and pumpkin spice’s clutches will take hold of everything we love, no matter its holiness.
Pumpkin spice season may have gone too far, so if you’re already sick of the PSLs, you’re in luck. Starbucks is introducing a maple pecan-flavored latter to the masses, so we just might be in for a whole new world.
