Georgia Gibbs and Kate Wasley are best friends and models with very different body types, which is typical and not weird at all. But when Georgia posted a photo of the two the backlash was insane. She was accused of photoshopping Kate so she looked skinnier. The responses were so messed up that it convinced the friends to started the Instagram page Any BODY.
Where it all started ^ We posted this picture online, just as best friends going out on the weekend, it got reposted a lot and the controversy started.. You have photoshopped yourself thinner or your friend bigger, what kind of friend are you? Was one of the comments, it broke my heart because Kate and I are best friends why would I do that? The fact that a simple picture of two people together went so viral purely because of their body types shocked me… and @any.body_co was created because no one should have to deal with that and it shouldn't even be acknowledged, all I see here is two women.. not one "skinny" woman and one "curvy" woman, stop comparing everyone to each other and accept every person as beautiful in their own right. #loveanyBODY
The page promotes body confidence, self-love and to stop having woman compare themselves to each other. Over 224,000 followers later, the Any BODY movement has picked up. Now the model BFF’s are glowing up together. They both covered Australia’s Women’s Health & Fitness magazine and now they are both Sports Illustrated Swim Rookies.
Proud muma moment 💕 Not for me, not for Kate, not for @any.body_co but for every woman that has felt like you aren't enough, you are MORE than enough ✨ Thank you @deadlift.to.deadline for making this real life & @leeaoak for always supporting my dreams 🙌🏼 On stands NOW with an 8 page spread about our stories, body positivity, self acceptance and being the best version of yourself. #LoveAnyBODY #HealthOverSize #QuitTheComparisons #WomenEmpowerWomen #BeautyWithNoBoundaries @whandfmag Cover by @bonniecee 🌈
