Okay, guys! It’s survey time! Are you well acquainted with your kitchen? How about recipes? Can you cook more than the ramen noodles in your cabinet and the milk and cereal on the counter? If you said yes to these, then I have the holiday for you. If not… Well, maybe you should binge some food network and go grocery shopping.

The first Thursday of November marks National Men Make Dinner Day. I know. I didn’t know this was an actual holiday until now, too. This is the perfect chance to show off all your culinary skills and impress your friends and family. It’s okay if you don’t know your way around the kitchen, but it’s high time you learn. Don’t worry. We don’t expect a five-star meal or something from an episode of Chopped, but it wouldn’t hurt to try cooking something a little fancy today, guys.
All joking aside, I’m going to get a little serious. I really don’t want to hear the “women don’t know how to cook anymore” or “women want to be wifed up” argument. Come on, people. It’s 2017. Shouldn’t we stop with the gendered cooking arguments? Everyone should know how to cook.
