I hope you did all your shopping early. If you were counting on shipping your gifts on Christmas, I have some bad news for you. All post offices and federal offices will be closed, so you won’t be sending or receiving any gifts in the mail. Postal workers need to celebrate the holidays too, you know.
Here are some deadlines to follow to make sure your packages arrive on time:
USPS Retail Ground: December 14
First-Class Mail: December 19
Priority Mail: December 20
Priority Mail Express: December 22
Since the post offices and federal offices are closed, certain carriers will also be unavailable on Christmas. Here are their holiday schedules:

- New Year’s Day
- Thanksgiving
- Labor Day
- Independence Day (July 4)
- President’s Day
- Martin Luther King Jr. Day
