O’Brien established himself in the hearts of teen girls everywhere when he landed the role of Stiles Stilinski, alongside leading man, Scott McCall (Tyler Posey), on Teen Wolf in 2011.  That same year, made his film debut as one of the stars of the entirely improvised independent feature film High Road. O’Brien’s first lead role in a film was playing Dave, a high school senior just trying to get the girl (ironically enough), in the comedy The First Time in 2012, countering Britt Robertson who also happens to be his girlfriend, #couplegoals. By 2013, O’brien supported Vince Vaughn and Owen Wilson’s comedy The Internship as Stuart, a tech junkie with a lot to say. These roles provided a foundation of wealth in which O’Brien continued to add on to.

While he found much of his success on Teen Wolf and YouTube, O’Brien continued to flourish with more films. The 2014 fantasy adventure film The Maze Runner also starring Will Poulter and Kaya Scodelario, garnered recognition for O’Brien as he lead the Gladers out of the Maze. He continued in the sequel, Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials in 2015. After the Maze Runner took a year off of releases in 2016, O’Brien became Caleb Holloway in the true life-based Deepwater Horizon. In July of 2017, O’Brien and fans kissed Stiles Stilinksi goodbye, despite rumors he would have been killed off of Teen Wolf much sooner. He denied any possibility of joining any kind of revamp but fans are still hopeful. We’re looking forward to seeing O’Brien, who is finally recovered from an on-set injury, back on the big screen for the highly anticipated release of Maze Runner: The Death Cure, in January 2018.
