“25 sittin’ on 25 mill,” seems likely when your sophomore album spends over 250 weeks on the Billboard 200. Drake, who’s real name is Aubrey Drake Graham, in case you were wondering, has been pretty quiet since the end of his tour. Coming in at 105 on the decline since being 89 last week, Drizzy doesn’t seem too concerned.
Look What You’ve Done, Champagne Papi
Champagne Papi continues to dominate the Billboard 200 with two other albums sitting pretty on the chart. This year’s More Life comes in at No. 56 in its 40th week, while Viewssits at No. 88 in its 86th week.
The Take Care album was originally released in 2011 blessing the general public with a diverse blend of emotional ballads and club hits. Collaborations such as Take Care with Rihanna, Make Me Proud with Nicki Minaj, HYFR with Lil Wayne and Crew Love with fellow Toronto-man the Weekend, are still being played in the club like Steve Jobs just died. Shot For Me, Practice, The Real Her, and Marvin’s Room have kept loyal listener’s on a Drake & Drive flow for the last 6 years. Other top tracks like Headlines made headlines for record breaking success back then and carried us over until Nothing Was The Same.
We haven’t heard much from the 6 God himself (who seems to be spending too much time in Miami with Dj Khlaed) since More Life dropped, but an alleged leak has comforted us through these dark times. There are swirling rumors of a new project in the works but no release dates have been revealed. With the help of London On Da Track and Pi’erre Bourne, a true masterpiece awaits. Other rumors of this being his final album are something I’m choosing to deny on his behalf because Lord Knows he’d be Doing It Wrong.
