This Is Us is finally back from its season two midseason finale. If you can’t remember because you were crying too much This Is Us midseason finale ended with Randall Pearson and his wife Beth finally saying goodbye to their foster daughter Déjà. At first, Randall and Beth were reluctant to give Déjà up, but a conversation with Randall’s late biological father helped him put the situation into perspective.
The episode was centered around Randall and went into detail about his past. Teen Randall’s storyline is about how he felt growing up in a white household but then finally going to a Howard University an HBCU. Randall has a heart to heart with his dad Jack Pearson about him introducing his white dad to his new black friends. It’s a very touching moment.
The midseason finale ends with Randall’s brother Kevin Pearson drunk driving, but unknown to him Randall’s daughter Tess is in the backseat. Thankfully no one gets hurt and Kevin gets arrested with a DUI. Hopefully, this will be Kevin’s wakeup call.
The midseason finale didn’t give any clues to how Jack dies. Maybe there will be a hint in this episode. The only thing we can guarantee is that you’ll shed a tear or two.
