Ciara’s hard work and dedication, mixed in with her hustler mentality has managed to keep her career poppin’ but let’s see how Ciara’s continued to stay relevant and hot in the industry.
Ciara Princess Harris was born in Austin, Texas on October 25, 1985. As the only child of Jackie and Carlton Clay Harris, Ciara was an army brat. Ciara and her parents eventually moved and settled in Atlanta, Georgia when Ciara was a teen. While in high school, Ciara was bitten by the music bug and formed a girl group Hearsay with her two friends. The group eventually broke up due to differences but Ciara continued on her quest for superstardom. She wrote the song “Got Me Waiting” for Fantasia Barrino and it was after that that she really got her start with music producer, Jazze Pha. Pha played a pivotal role in getting Ciara’s career started and the pair recorded Ciara’s future hit ” 1, 2 Step” together.
Ciara’s debut album Goodies was released in 2003 and included hits like, “Goodies”, “1,2 Step” and “Oh.” Ciara’s debut was met with praise when the singer debuted her videos which included tons of intricate dancing with Ciara not missing a beat. From that point on, Ciara was not only known for her catchy music but her amazing dancing skills. Ciara continued to make guest appearances showing off her skills in her music industry friends’ videos like Missy Elliot and former boyfriend, Bow Wow. In 2006, Ciara dropped her follow up album, Ciara: The Evolution that produced hits like “Promise” and the female anthem, “Like a Boy.” To support the album, Ciara headlined her first tour which also proved to be incredibly lucrative for the singer.

The album wasn’t met with nearly as much praise as her previous albums, despite the release of the semi-successful single “Love Sex Magic” featuring Justin Timberlake. Ciara’s next album would be Basic Instinct, which would be her worst album debut to date. In 2011 after rumors of being dropped by Jive records, Ciara released a statement of her unhappiness with the label and requested to be released from her contract. Later that year she signed with Epic Records.
Ciara took her time with the next album and in 2013 released, Ciara. The album did much better than the former and became her fourth album to chart on the Billboard charts. Ciara also branched out into acting and appeared in Mama, I Want to Sing! and That’s My Boy.
