Big Little Lies was only supposed to be one season and done, but the success and critical acclaim of the show have led HBO to continue with the show. Season one ended with the death of Celeste abusive husband Perry Wright, but rumor has it that Perry is coming back for season two.
Big Little Lies took home eight Emmys and four Golden Globes and there is no stopping this show now that Meryl Streep is signed on for the second season. Yeah, Queen Meryl is booked, so expect even more awards to be thrown Big Little Lies way.
Streep is going to play Mary Louise Wright the mother of the late Perry Wright, yeah showrunners confirmed he’s dead but will be featured in flashbacks. Mary Louise is concerned about her grandsons’ well beings after their father’s death. She is also full of questions about Perry’s death.
HBO says that season two will be focused on lies, the durability of relationships and the delicacies of marriage.
