McDonald’s french fries are not only deliciously addictive but the golden crispy fried potatoes are actually good for your hair.
Refinery 29 reported that a recent study proves that eating McDonald’s french fries could lead to hair regrowth aka long beautiful luscious locks.
The study was published in Biomaterials and was conducted by researchers at Yokohama National University in Japan. The study found that the ingredient dimethylpolysiloxane helped hair regrowth. Dimethylpolysiloxane is a silicone that’s added to the oil McDonald’s cooks their fries in, the ingredient keeps the oil from foaming and splashing.
The study found that the silicone helped significantly with hair regrowth for alopecia and natural hair loss. But before you start binging on McDonald’s french fries the study is only in the preliminary stages and has only been done on mice not humans yet.
Not all successful studies done on mice translate to humans or have the same outcomes, but it’s promising that it had such a profound affect on mice. It’s also important to note that the study didn’t just only use dimethylpolysiloxane to stimulate hair growth. It was used with many other chemicals and products to stimulate hair rejuvenation
Even though the science hasn’t fully backed up McDonald’s fries helping with hair growth, ordering a large fry and not small couldn’t hurt.
