Drake Has Reportedly Donated $50,000 To A Women & Children Shelter

Drake has been in Miami, Florida filming his “God’s Plan” music video.

But Drake’s visit hasn’t been all rap music videos and screaming fans. The Canadian rapper showed South Beach a ton of love by donating to various charities in the area. He unexpectedly dropped by a Miami women and children’s shelter, the Lotus House.

According to the Billboard, he brought a slew of toys and games for the kids, $150 gift cards to target for the women and a $50,000 check to donate to the shelter.

The Lotus House provides housing for women and children seeking shelter from homelessness and abuse, support for LGBT youth and resources for their residents to build a future. The shelter is currently trying to raise $25 million to expand its facilities and become the national model for stopping women and child homelessness.

The Lotus House thanked Drake on their social media, “Thank you @champagnepapo for the amazing surprise. We are so thankful for your generosity.”

Drake is in the giving back spirit because this isn’t the only charitable act he did while in Miami. Drake paid for University of Miami student, Destiny James tuition which totaled $50,000

This happened today. I applied to scholarships last year for which I had to write an essay. I received those scholarships and thought that was the end of it. Apparently, my essay and my story made it to other departments. I was contacted this weekend about doing a video speaking about where I come from, things I've been through, and why it is so important for scholarship donors to continue to donate. This was the surprise the whole time. Drake told me that he has read great things about me and appreciates how hard I've worked through so many trials and decided to give me $50K for my tuition. @champagnepapi THANK YOU SO MUCH!!' You don't understand what this means to me! I would've never imagined this happening to me. I'm just a girl from Denmark, SC that wants to MAKE IT and be somebody and for you to see my hard work means the world. Thank you so much. God I thank you. You are so great and amazing! Thank you for blessing me when I thought my hard work was going unnoticed. I'm living out my dreams. God's Plan 🙏🏾

He also stopped at a local high school, did a free performance and then gifted the school $25,000 for school uniforms and paid for $50,000 worth of groceries for strangers at a local grocery store.

Supposedly these acts are going to be part of his “God’s Plan” music video. We’ll have to wait and see.
