Despite Arie Luyendyk’s lackluster season of The Bachelor, we have been promised from the beginning that the ending was going to be dramatic and a Bachelor first.
Apparently, we haven’t seen it all yet. The ending is so dramatic it warrants a three-hour episode and Arie is already doing press for the backlash he’s going to receive.
“I know people are going to be hard on [me],” he told People. “I made a mistake. And I’m prepared for the backlash. But all I can say is I had to follow my heart.”

The “Women Tell All” episode got heated when Caroline Lunny called Arie out for his finale decision saying, “This whole time, you’ve said that you are here because you are trying to find a wife. I know what you did, and I don’t know how you could do that. I just really don’t understand.”
So what is the dramatic finale? If you don’t want any spoilers then stop reading.
As we are well aware the last two woman left are Becca Kufrin and Lauren Burnham. According to Reality Steve, the holy grail of Bachelor spoilers, Arie originally picks Becca, but then months after goes back on his decision.
They were together up until New Year’s Ever according to Reality Steve’s impeccable snooping. One of their Happy Couple post-Bachelor visits were during New Year’s Eve confirming that they were together then.

They were supposed to have another couple follow up couple interview the second weekend in January. But unknowing to Becca, Arie broke up with her and ended their engagement. He broke things off with her for Lauren, the runner-up.

Breaking up with Becca isn’t why people like Lunny are upset with Arie. They’re mad that he waited and planned to break up with her when he knew the cameras would be there filming their Happy Couple follow up interviews. He didn’t give her any warning or hint, totally blindsided her and it was all captured on film.
Once the season premiered on January 1 Arie reached out to Lauren. A few days after he broke up with Becca he visited Lauren and her parents in Virginia on January 16.
Arie and Lauren have been together since then and fans are rooting that Becca will be the next Bachelorette.
