The gorgeous Victorian house from ’90s classic 10 Things I Hate About You is on the market, and we don’t hate it, not even close, not even a little bit, not even at all.
According to Refinery29, the five-bedroom, 5,760 sq. ft Tacoma, Washington home was built in 1907 and “overlooks Puget Sound.” Real estate Jeff Jensen told the outlet it hasn’t been on the market in over 30 years, and is valued at a cool $1.6 million.
Sure, the house has original Victorian woodwork, stained glass windows, and a wraparound porch, but the biggest draw of the property is, of course, that it’s where Kat and Bianca Stratford overcame “all those years of upper middle-class suburban oppression” (at least according to Mr. Morgan). It’s the perfect setting to soak in the cultural masterpiece that is the adaptation of Shakespeare’s Taming of the Shrew, and stock the bookshelves with the feminist literature that first captured young Kat’s ’90s heart.
The living room is ideal for warning against the dangers of teen pregnancy, and the porch is perfect for daydreaming about Heath Ledger’s crooked smile. Those who have the money to spare should be totally whelmed.
