Somedays the struggle is just too real. And while you made plans to hang out with the girls or planned a night out days or weeks ago, now that you’re just hours away from having to meet up, you realize that you’d much rather spend the rest of your time in bed binge watching cute cat videos on Instagram rather than having to get up, get dressed and go meet up with the girls.
There will be times when you’re just feeling too lazy and lethargic to go out, and you’re gonna want to cancel your plans last minute. So what exactly do you tell your friends at the 11th hour, so you don’t look like a total flake?
Take a look at these five excuses to use when you’re feeling too lazy to go out.
1. Homework Calls

Saying that you won’t be able to make it out this go-round because you’re swamped with homework, have a paper due or have a big project you need to work on is a great excuse to use when you feel like staying in. If you actually do have some work to catch up on, staying in and getting a headstart isn’t a bad idea and makes your excuse realistic, and you won’t have to cram it all in at the last minute.
2. Bad Period Cramps = The Worst

Every girl knows what those excruciatingly painful cramps feel like so using this as an excuse is totally relatable.
3. My Pet Is Sick
This isn’t the best excuse to use if you don’t feel like going out, especially if your pet isn’t sick because it can lead to some bad karma in the end, but it’s still a good excuse no less. We recommend using this one with discretion and if you absolutely have to.
4. The Repairman Is Coming
You’ve got a leak in your roof and waiting for the repairman to come – at some point during the day. Your cable is out and they said they’d make it to your place between 10 A.M. and 4 P.M. Everyone knows that when you’re waiting for a repairman or a company rep to show up, it’s pretty much an all-day waiting game at home so this excuse is also incredibly plausible and 100 percent believable.
5. My Roomie/Bestie Paged Me 911
Letting your girls know that your bestie or roommate just broke things off with their boyfriend or had a REALLY bad day and needs you by there side is a totally reasonable excuse to use when you’re looking to stay in. But again, this too can bring some bad karma especially if it’s a straight-up lie so use this excuse with discretion as well.
What’s a perfectly acceptable excuse to text your friends when you’re too lazy AF to go out and want to cancel your plans?
