Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg is the oldest member of the Supreme Court, but she has no plans of retiring. “I will do this job as long as I can do it full steam,” she said at an appearance at George Washington University.
One of the reasons why the 85-year-old Justice is so healthy still is her workout routine. Her workout was discussed in Politico last year and workouts do seem easier on paper. According to the article, RBG works out twice a week for about an hour with her trainer Bryant Johnson.
Colbert did an actual workout with the Notorious RBG, who was wearing a sweatshirt that read “Super Diva”. Of course, Colbert started out making some light jokes, but RBG wasn’t having it. She especially wasn’t having Colbert’s music choice for the workout.
The two did some light stretching, walking on the treadmill and lots of strength training. The strength training was a combination of using free weights, machines and body weight.
Johnson at one point called Colbert out for doing his push-ups on his knees, while Justice Ginsburg was doing full push-ups. He even said at one point that he was cramping up.
The two did pistol squats, plank variations, push-ups and many many arm workouts. RBG doesn’t mess around when it comes to her fitness.
