5 SOS Cause Fan Frenzy After New Single and Tour Dates Drop

Five Seconds of Summer have spent the better part of the past two years regrouping, writing and recording their new album Youngblood and according to their loyal fans; this is their best music yet.

Early last year, 5 Seconds of Summer promised their third studio album would be out before the end of 2017.

It took until April of 2018 before fans could sink their teeth into the group’s latest single “Want You Back.”

The song is a steep departure from the band’s former pop-punk incarnation and is already finding its footing on Top 40 radio.

Luke Hemmings, Calum Hood, Michael Clifford and Ashton Irwin have come back with a vengeance, releasing not only the album’s first single but its title track as well.

As for the rest of the album, if you want to listen to it in its entirety, you have to wait until June 22 when it’s officially released.

On the heels of the new tune’s debut, the band then confirmed that they would begin their “Meet You There” series of shows, set to begin August 27 in Toronto, Ontario.

The 25-date tour will wrap up on October 12 in Los Angeles, California.

The band is currently on their sold-out spring 5SOS3 tour, making stops in cities like Chicago, Nashville, and San Diego.

Five Seconds of Summer’s 2014 debut self-titled album rocketed to the top of the charts with tunes like “She Looks So Perfect,” followed by “Don’t Stop,” “Amnesia,” and “Good Girls.”

Just one year later, their second record, Sounds Good Feels Good, was released along with the lead single “She’s Kinda Hot.”

“Growing up is what we had to do on Youngblood,” said 5SOS guitarist and vocalist Luke Hemmings in a Capitol Records statement.

“Seven years as a band may seem like a long time, but we were teenagers when we started. We had to look at each other and say, ‘Are we going to stop now, or do this forever? Because if we continue, then we have to go farther than we ever have before.’”

Fans couldn’t contain their excitement on Twitter.
