For the first time in six years, Reba McEntire will be hosting Sunday’s festivities. McEntire has hosted the awards 14 times since the late 1980’s and the last time she hosted it, was back in 2012 with Blake Shelton. I have a feeling that Sunday’s going to be amazing beyond words since it is Reba McEntire. It also marks Carrie Underwood’s first public appearance since her horrible fall at her home, she’s going to be performing her newest single Cry Pretty for the first time as well. Other performances include Kelly Clarkson, Jason Aldean.
McEntire even teases a performance with Clarkson, which the viewers might remember them touring back in ’08. According to E!News, the portion of the show McEntire & Clarkson as part of the “ACM Flashbacks” portion of the view. McEntire even had this to say about singing with Clarkson to E!News.
“It’s going to be fun. It’s going to be exciting if we don’t crack each other up because we’re double trouble. When we get onstage together, we kind of forget the audience is watching and we’re having such a good time,” Reba explained to E! News. “We toured together in 2008 and got to sing that song so many times that it’s going to be great to sing it with her again.”
The song you might wonder about? Its Reba’s Grammy-winning hit “Does He Love You?” That’s not the only special collaboration of the night, Blake Shelton, Alan Jackson and Jon Pardi as well as Toby Keith will collaboration on a few special songs Sunday night as well.
Another thing Reba is bringing to the stage is a fun night.
“It’s going to be a different show this year. I told them I didn’t want to talk about politics. I didn’t want to talk to them about nothing that’s not fun and positive,” she shared with E!News. “And we’re going to pay tribute to the folks who were involved in the tragedy in Vegas not too long ago and then the rest of the show is going to be a lot of fun. We’re going to keep it very positive.”
Which is something that all of us can agree on, during this time and we need all the positive that we need?
