When you find an eyeliner and a mascara that doesn’t smudge, run or give you raccoon eyes you hold on to those products for dear life. Not every makeup product can withstand the test of daily wear let alone stay perfectly in place even after a car accident.
A nurse named Shelby was recently in a car accident. She had her mascara running down her face, but her Kat Von D Tattoo Liner stayed in place the entire time.
Shelby wrote a review for the product with the headline, “I was in a car accident and my eyeliner didn’t budge.” She then wrote, “June 28th I was pulled over in my car calling for roadside assistance when a distracted driver hit me going 55mph. I was taken via ambulance to the ER where I remained for 8 hours.” Needless to say, that sounds beyond scary. Thankfully it seems like she is now okay.
Throughout all of that, her Kat Von D eyeliner didn’t smudge. “My mascara was running down my face from crying and all other products had been wiped off in the transfer to the hospital,” she wrote. “But not my tattoo eyeliner.” Shelby then included a photo of herself in a neckbrace laying on a hospital bed. She has raccoon eyes from her mascara, but her eyeliner is still perfectly winged.
Y’all I was really out here looking for a new eyeliner and look at this review lmfaooo
She deadass took a picture in her neck brace I am deceased 😩 pic.twitter.com/j9jHjAei06— lahu the painter (@guadalahari) April 24, 2018
Twitter user @guadalahari posted the hilarious and honest review and it went viral. Her tweet got the attention of Shelby, the woman behind the viral review. She quote tweeted the viral tweet and called out the people criticizing her for posting a photo of herself after the accident.
She said that the photo was originally taken for police evidence. She just happened to notice how good eyeliner looked in the photo!
Everyone’s hating on my review because I posted a picture of the makeup after the accident:
1. I took the photo for police evidence
2. But have you ever seen such a good eyeliner?!….you’re welcome

We’re glad Shelby is okay and that her eyeliner didn’t budge.
