Busy Philipps is an actress who may get recognized more for her Instagram than her latest role. With almost a million followers, who regularly tune into her personal and hilarious stories, it’s no wonder that Philipps is getting her very own late-night talk show on E!.
According to The Cut, two sources confirmed that Philipps is joining the elite ranks of female hosted late-night talk shows. Based on her quote retweeting the article, linking to it in her Instagram bio and posting about it on her Insta it seems like she has confirmed the news.

Late-night talk show hosts are a dime a dozen, but they’re typically all men who are white and named Jimmy. But seriously, only a handful of women have ever had their very own late-night show. As of right now, there are only three female late-night hosts. Samantha Bee hosts Full Frontal with Samantha Bee on TBS, Sarah Silverman hosts I Love You, America on Hulu and Robin Thede who hosts The Rundown with Robin Thede on BET.
Philipps new show is huge and if it’s going to be anything like her Instagram it’ll be a winning show. Supposedly the working title for her late-night talk show is Busy Tonight.
Along with hosting the show, Philipps will be an Executive producer, along with Julie Darmody and Eric Gurian. Gurian is Tina Fey’s partner at their production company Little Stranger and is a long-time collaborator.
Her show will be filmed in Los Angeles, where she lives and production is slated to start this summer.
