An Olympic athlete is allegedly accused of some “fake” behavior on the latest season of ABC’s Dancing with the Stars Athletes.
Radar Online reported that Tonya Harding, who surprised judges Carrie Ann Inaba, Bruno Tonioli and Len Goodman with her Foxtrot, has engaged in some “fake” behavior.
Tonya was clearly emotional after her first performance alongside pro-partner Sasha Farber on the series first episode which aired April 30.
Shaking with emotion, Tonya cried as she was critiqued by the judges.
A source close to the production allegedly felt differently and stated to Radar that her tears were “fake.”
“Tonya’s tears just did not sit well with the other contestants. They were not charmed. And she was apparently already on their last nerve.
“Everyone is saying that she completely faked her crying episode on-screen during the premiere,” the source allegedly said.
Radar also reported that the source called the former Olympic hopeful a “drama queen.”
“She is such a huge drama queen and it seems that she believes she is the star of the show already,” they reportedly stated.
Tonya Harding was accused of being involved in an orchestrated attack on former Olympic skating rival Nancy Kerrigan during the 1994 Winter Olympics.
Nancy was hit in the knee with a police baton in an attempt to force her out of the competition.
Despite the rumors, the source alleged to Radar that the series producers are pushing Tonya as their lead star this season.
“They’ve been putting her front and center in their promos. Because they are using her imagery for most of the promotion of this current season.”
Tonya’s difficult life prior to the attack on Nancy Kerrigan was recently documented in the Oscar-nominated film I Tonya starring Margot Robbie and Allison Janney.
The athlete is likely hoping for a career redemption with her appearance on the ABC reality competition show.
Wouldn’t it be great if she made the DWTS finals? What do you think about the rumors surrounding Tonya Harding’s alleged behavior?
Dancing with the Stars Athletes airs Mondays on ABC.
