Did music superstar and World of Dance judge Jennifer Lopez just put the pressure on longtime love Alex Rodriguez to put a ring on it with her latest tune?
During an appearance on The Tonight Show, the baseball star discussed his initial reaction to hearing Lopez’s new song “El Anillo,” which translates to the “The Ring.”
The baseball legend also revealed whether an engagement might be down the line for the couple.
ARod revealed to Jimmy Fallon that he realized the tune was referencing the couple’s relationship after JLo invited her love to hear the song in the studio.
After reading the lyrics, Alex said, “‘Babe, it sounds like they’re talking about us.'”
“I knew it was going to be a smash the first time I heard it,” he said.
When Jimmy Fallon put pressure on ARod about proposing to JLo, the former baseball player answered, “I will say this: When it happens, Jimmy, you’ll be the first to know.”
The controversy began after Jennifer appeared on The Tonight Show and talked about if she felt ARod was willing to put a ring on it.
The couple has both been married to others prior to their relationship.
“No pressure,” Jennifer teased about the tune.
“The song is definitely about that. It is,” she said. “But I felt like it was kind of like something that all women kind of get to a point where they say, ‘OK, what’s up?’ It’s like we’re good. Everything’s great. What’s going on?”
“I feel like you know after—fairly quickly. The rest is just you being scared and whatever. But don’t go by me. I’ve made tons of mistakes,” she said with a laugh, poking fun at her prior three marriages.
